Frequently Asked Questions

What age group is this good for?

All adventurers ages 7 and up. This activity is designed to challenge the young and old; as the trails are designed for beginners with a gradual progression towards more stimulating elements. Participants have ranged from 7 to 81 years old, making this a unique and exciting experience for all ages. Please note that younger children must be accompanied by climbing adults and height requirements apply.

Can we make a reservation?

Yes, online booking is available for our Crazy Apes Adventure Park. Climb times are available for review 24/7 through our online reservation system or by contacting us at (207) 892-5952 during park operating hours. Payment is required at the time of the reservation.

Do we have to fill out waivers?

Yes. Every participant who takes part in the Crazy Apes Adventure Park and Zips will be required to sign a copy of our release of liability waiver. Guests under the age of 18 must also have their waiver forms signed by their parent or legal guardian. Need a waiver in advance? Email us your request and we'll send you a PDF version.

What should I wear?

Please wear closed footwear such as sneakers, hiking shoes, or boots. Flip-flops, Crocs and sandals are not permitted. Clothing should be well-fitting and comfortable. We also strongly recommend that you do not wear any jewelry and long hair must be tied back. Our staff will determine if your clothes are adequate and if they feel your clothing may cause unsafe conditions; you may be refused entry onto the courses.

How difficult are the trails in the Adventure Park?

The trails range from easy (level one) to moderate (level two) to difficult (level three). There are 2 level one trails, 2 level two trails and 1 level three trail. Relative to each person’s ability, the trails are very manageable but become more physically challenging as you progress to more difficult trails.  If you have not been up in the air before you may be unsettled at first about being 10-15 feet above the ground on a level one trail.  Very quickly you will begin to have fun with the obstacles and the height above the ground will not be your main focus.  Your focus becomes being balanced and efficient on each element you are crossing.

How safe is this? Can I fall?

Our Adventure Park uses an innovative safety system where you are always clipped in using a system call SSB’s, where one of your clips is always attached and can never be unclipped while climbing. The farthest you can fall is right into the seat of your harness. There are precautionary measures you should take before climbing, as it is a physical activity and may be too rigorous for some people to complete.

What if I have a medical restriction?

These activities are not suitable for anyone who has been advised by their treating physician to limit their physical activities or anyone who has been informed that they have a medical condition which any reasonable person would realize could be adversely affected by participating in a high ropes or zip line activity. Any participant that is pregnant, has heart troubles, a kidney transplant or any serious medical conditions, should not use the Crazy Apes Adventure Park & Zips.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

The Adventure Park & Zips will operate in the rain or snow. Crazy Apes can still be fun while it is raining. However, the park will close for severe weather such as heavy rain, thunderstorms and high winds. If scattered storm systems are moving through the area we will suspend operations and ask our guests to take a break while they pass.
